There are several application and packaging options for Bio Grease Treet. The most popular is to treat directly with the dissolvable powder placed in the grease trap or drain or to treat with a prepared liquid solution. The dissolvable powder for this use comes packaged in 2 oz water soluble packets, 12 per jar or in 25 pound pails, 200 packets/pail.
Application for Eliminating grease mat or existing grease: Where grease exists in the trap as a crust or mat, remove the lid to the grease trap, stir the mat, if possible, until it becomes liquefied, then break open one of the 2 oz packets and sprinkle the powder bacteria over the entire surface of the grease mat. Repeat this process every few days until the grease mat is eliminated.
Application for Maintenance Purposes: Mix 2 2 oz packets of Bio Grease Treet in 1 gallon of warm tap water (per 250 gallon grease trap capacity) and stir until dissolved. Pour this solution down the main sink leading to the grease trap. Repeat this process weekly to maintain a clean grease trap.
Application for sink and floor drains & bar taps: Mix 1 2 oz packet of Bio Grease Treet in 1 gallon of warm tap water and stir until completely dissolved. Pour about 16 oz of this prepared solution down every drain leading to the trap. Repeat this process monthly or as needed to maintain free flowing and odorless drains.
Application as Refill Packets for Liquid Injection Systems: This application option provides packaging in 8 oz dissolvable packets to allow for easy preparation of refills for liquid injection systems. Mix 2 8 oz refill packets with 5 gallons of warm chlorine free tap water and stir until dissolved to get a stabilized liquid bacteria solution. Then fill ejection pump reservoir as needed with this stabilized liquid bacteria solution. Set the automatic pump system as normal to inject the liquid bacteria solution into the grease trap every evening. For problem grease traps, a more concentrated solution can be used to increase the bacteria concentration.
Application using slow dissolving blocks: This application option employs slow-dissolving blocks of bacteria in 1 lb, 2 lb, 5lb, and 10 lb block sizes. These slow dissolving blocks gradually release grease remediation specific bacteria for up to 30 days. Application involves tying off the block of choice so that it is submerged below the liquid level but not sitting on the bottom of the grease trap. A 1 lb block will treat a 100-200 gallon grease trap for 2-4 weeks, a 2 lb block will do the same for a 200-500 gallon trap, the 5 lb block, a 500-1000 gallon trap and the 10 lb block, a 1000-2000 gallon trap.
