Mini-Circuits JMS-1 Double Balanced Mixers, 2-500MHz RF/LO, DC-500MHz IF, +7dBm LO (Qty.3)
On offer are 3 new (old stock) Mini-Circuits JMS-1 mixers fresh in factory strip. These are professional double-balanced diode mixers, with a good frequency range and isolation between ports.
* Wide 2MHz-500MHz RF/LO and DC-500MHz IF frequency range
* IF response down to DC, so they can be used for phase detection/locking
* +7dBm LO level- easily driven by a MAR-4 Amplifier or similar MMIC
* Typical 45dB+ isolation minimises feedthrough
* Would make the basis of a great receiver or transceiver project, from HF to UHF.
Being a Level 7 mixer (+7dBm LO), these will usually substitute quite nicely for older types such as the venerable SBL-1 with a smaller footprint and improved performance. VSWR and isolation are improved over the cheaper ADE-1 and similar models. As the data sheet shows they'll work well below 2MHz but MCL tends to be a bit conservative.
As passive devices they're equally suited to up-conversion and down-conversion.These are surface mount devices, but sized like a 6 pin DIP they are quite easy to handle and for prototyping, 'ugly' construction techniques are fine, as long as due care is taken with grounding/shielding.
Note: The photos above were taken of my spares - your mixers will be sealed in factory packaging. The contacts on the bottom view look a bit discoloured but this is just the lighting - they're quite new and shiny!
