The Model TC253 converts K-type thermocouple voltages to a level and scale factor for use with high-impedance digital voltmeters. The output is lmV/degree Celsius or lmV/degree Fahrenheit, depending on the mode selected. The converter plugs into the voltage and common inputs of the voltmeter and, along with a Type-K thermocouple which plugs into the converter, results in a digital thermometer system with measured temperature displayed on the voltmeter.
The converter is battery operated (standard 9-volt) and includes both cold-junction compensation and linearization.
