BK Precision 4011 5 MHz Sweep Function Generator with Freq Counter
This is a used BK Precision model 4011 5 MHz Function Generator with Frequency Counter. I tested it with the scope you see there, not included. It seems to work but the test was brief. I turned some of the knobs and pushed buttons and got expected variations. This seems to work but I am no expert and I did not do a calibration/certification test by any means.
I pushed the sine wave button on the right, and I got sine waves. I was able to vary the amplitude and frequency and the display changed as expected.
I pushed square waves and sure enough, square waves.

This is a sale of techie stuff. If you're a techie and can fix things this is for you!
It's nice or I'd have just scrapped it, but it's just not perfect. There may be some dirt, tape residue, marks or scratches typical of used equipment.
We scrap lots of broken, non-working items every day here, maybe 100,000# a month of old unneeded electronics. We have no reason to sell anything broken and we normally don't.
But this is highbrow test equipment and we're not equipped with a lab and the talent to test and certify this type of stuff so we just don't. We sell it based on what we are able to test. Does it light up? Do the knobs seem to work, at least some of them? Does the expected output seem to be there and change with the controls?
I have more of these and any that have defects that I am able to detect will either be sold with those defects or scrapped.
The manufacturers data sheet for the 4011A version is HERE. The users manual for the 4011A version is HERE. Not sure what the differences are. Maybe only a different case?
These are used units and I do have more of these. They were used in a lab environment or maybe in a school. They were replaced for some reason, maybe in an upgrade, perhaps because of some failure, I don't know. All I know is I tested this briefly and the knobs work, the frequency changes as I turned the knobs as indicated on the integral freq counter, and the correct patterns are there on the scope. That said I am in over my head here, I am no engineer. It's possible this has some problem, but it looks nice to me. I sure don't know near enough to test *all* the functions and verify they work. It might drift some amount. I did notice that a little. The frequency did change a little, but not much. I don't know if that's a defect or not.
Included with this unit is only what you see, the function generator with it's permanently attached power cord, no manuals, software, cabling, oscilloscopes, other equipment or anything at all. But you can read the data sheet and the manual from the links I provided.
